Has anyone installed a K&N air filter and noticed a difference in MPG and more pep?

I have one and haven't noticed any difference in use over 2 years. Just supposed to be more efficient than paper, no replacement costs, etc.. Not sure I would do it again.....

I had the chance to do alittle experiment. I had to make two trip from MA to Conn for work and decided to take my 06 turbo baja. The first trip I used the standard subaru factory air filter and recorded 22mpg. The second trip just by chance I had changed to a K&N Filter and took the exact same route and recorded 24mpg.

I used cruise control and stayed at 75mph for most of the trip.

To date I have been averaging 22mpg commuting to work.

Interesting. I had one in my explorer back in the day. I was getting better mileage until the computer realize more air was getting in and readjusted the mixture.

Still not sure which way to go.

Thank you for your findings.

I didn't really get a change in MPG but I did notice more pep. I don't know if that's because the one I took out was quite dirty but I feel it was a smart move to put one in. Plus they're good for a million miles so you might only have to change it once on a Subaru

I just installed one, not for better mileage, but more for performance...altho' I don't expect V8-style horses to emerge...

I finally bit the bullet and ordered one. Thanks. I ordered it too for the extra HP being I'm gonna pull a trailer. Every little bit helps. Trans cooler on the way too.
