Re: Baja Pics
Love the light bar, turns night into day........ Don't waste your money getting them cleaned..... You can replace them for around $100 on eBay...... The cleaning doesn't last very long....I do it at work and you get about 3/4 months before it starts hazing again Like the lightbar setup......can you...

Computer question
So, while in having my passenger side front axle replaced recently, the mechanic asked if I had ever had the computer system software updated. My Baja is a 2003 NA non-turb0 with 87k miles. I've never knowingly had any computer work done on it, and there is nothing currently to indicate it is needed...

Re: CV Boot Failure
I second just replacing the whole half shaft, it takes less time and you have new joints, grease, and new boots. AND you get a new castle nut, cotter pin, and roll pin. Procedure (mine) is pound out the inner roll pin. Jack up vehicle and pull the wheel. Undo the two bolts attaching the strut to th...

CV Boot Failure
OK, I know there has been a lot of discussion on this forum and others regarding CV boot failure. What I am looking for is some comments on repair/replacement that a non-mechanic type (me) can digest! This AM, I noticed that the passenger side CV boot was leaking, and grease was getting onto the exh...

Re: Missing console piece.....
In case anyone else has this same issue with the broken plastic piece on the shift console, here is the information to get the replacement direct from Subaru: The part is called a "blind" and the OEM Part # is 35184AE000. The piece cost less than $20 and was an easy install. Back in busine...

Re: A Green and Silver Baja!
I just stumbled upon this on the internet. Has anyone else here seen this one before? I have to say I really dig that color on a Baja. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2299/2230402569_c4bd080646.jpg http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/64be/rhezgowpk8m3musfg.jpg http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/fbd4/yet2...

Re: Wet Okole Seat Covers
They are custom made per order so do take awhile. They may call you to ask for photos of your seats and to be absolutely sure they know what you want, which I thought was a cool thing. Also, there were some videos on YouTube showing some installation tricks, you will probably find those helpful. Ju...

Re: Cheaper Crossbar Option
Not much to it, just took a sawzall and cut off one end, and drilled it to mount the "Foot" back on the end. The Basket is the Subaru Basket, was purchased from Subaru, by a friend of mine when the BAJA's first came out. Yakima has a basket that is almost, if not identical, to this one. I...

Re: Wet Okole Seat Covers
One correction, the neoprene is 1/4 inch, not a half. Nevertheless my seats are noticeably softer and more comfortable with these covers than before I installed them. No one posted any comments after I put the photos up, I presume because you saw the Hawaiian pattern, said, "eeeeuw" to yo...

Can someone confirm that the correct thread for the shifter knob on an '03 automatic is "M10x1.25" ??
I read that info online and have not got the correct caliper and thread gauge to confirm it myself. Thanks!!

Re: Wet Okole Seat Covers
One thing I forgot to mention, I guess because of the Neoprene rubber, they'll smell a little funky for a few months. At first I thought it was something rubber getting hot in the engine, but finally realized it was the covers. It's not an overly strong smell but you will notice it. I got my covers...
