Need pics of inside bed of Baja (2003) with plastic liner removed
Does anyone have any pics of the inside bed of the Baja (2003 hopefully) with the plastic cladding liner removed?? Particularly interested in the area around where the "roll" bars attach.

Installation help for OEM hard type bed cover
Hello: I just purchased an OEM hard type bed cover from the owner of a 2006, who replaced it with an ARE cap. I think I have all the bits and pieces, bolts, etc. but have a few questions regarding installing it on my 2003 Baja. On his vehicle, there appear to be a couple of large (+/- 1" did.) ...

Re: ARE cap installation
The original purchaser of the ARE cap was provided with a 2 part wiring harness when it was purchased. Assuming you have the half of the wiring harness attached to the cap and not the half that is supposed to be wired into the light, I would just cut off the plug and wire it directly to the 3rd ligh...

Re: Anyone know the status on the airbag recall
Went in yesterday to have my airbag replaced. Took about 4 hours overall at the local dealership. Interesting comment by service manager....apparently this is just the "first step" of a final permanent fix. He said that it would likely be many months or more before Subaru comes out with a ...

Re: Anyone know the status on the airbag recall
I think it is very dealer dependant. I got the letter and email last month like many of us, stating Subaru will "be in touch" when parts become available. I waited a couple of weeks, then called my local dealer. Part is in stock and being installed this week. Go figure.....

Re: Trailer wiring adaper plug
Looks familiar to me, from when I did mine. I had the same question when I first located it, because the cap looks strangely like a plug opening. If the 6 pin holes on the plug are open and exposed, then the cap is missing (can't tell from your photo). If they are just part of the moulding, then jus...

Re: Baja 2" receiver trailer hitch? Not for towing
You know, I considered doing that myself originally, but the dang thing sticks out about 10" from the bumper when the adapter is in there, and I kept whacking my leg on it! So, decided that since I don't use it all that frequently, just go with the temporary install when needed.....my shin is g...

Re: Baja 2" receiver trailer hitch? Not for towing
I was never able to find a 2" Class 2 receiver hitch for the Baja. I went with a standard and readily available 1.25" Class 1 type, then bought an adapter from Walmart that inserts into it and provides a 2" receiver outlet. Definitely NOT for towing, just for canoe rack, etc.........n...

Re: Towing Dilemma
Also to consider is the tranny, auto or manual. If auto, be real careful and definitely install a tranny oil cooler..... Cooking the tranny is far worse than the brakes. Also, check with your insurance agent....if you are in an accident and towing over the specs, good luck with that....just saying.

Re: Resale question.....
I’ve decided to sell the ARE cap from my ’03 NA Baja, as I will be selling the vehicle soon. This cap is about 4 years old and in excellent shape and has no major flaws. It has 4 roof rack clips installed that allow for mounting of rain gutter type roof racks. Included in the sale are 2 Yakima roof ...

Resale question.....
Question for those knowledgable about resale values:
Would I get more $ from selling my 2003 NA (90k miles in excellent condition) with the ARE cap on, or taking the cap off and selling it separately....just hypothetical consideration at this point.

Class 3 hitch??
Does anyone know if there is a Class 3 hitch made for the Baja? I have the OEM Class 1 hitch already, but need one with class 3 specs of 500 lbs. tongue weight, for mounting a mobility scooter rack. I know there are ones made for some other Rubies, like Foresters.

Just put on my second set of Goodyear Triple Tred Assurance tires.....can't beat them for most of the time up North here. Michelin X-ice for the really bad winter mountain travels!!
