Re: New Baja owner with a list of questions

Hi, welcome! The Baja isn't typical for some things, particularly the rear half, but it's based on the 2000-2004 (Gen 3) Outback, so a lot of the information there applies to the Baja. 1. For the online version, I heard many people get a three-day subscription to the Subaru technician network (I for...

Re: Car jerks when on or off gas

It sounds Iike it could be, but I haven't had that problem before. If the mount is worn out, the transmission could rotate when accelerating, then rotate the opposite direction when decelerating. That extra movement could act as driveline slop, and could be felt as jerks during that transition or wh...

Re: Car jerks when on or off gas

Could worn engine mounts or rear differential bushings do that? Read a bit about the rear diff bushings wearing out quickly...

Re: Hooov Noise

It's probably best to bring it back to them, anyway, just in case it's something you can't fix on your own. You don't want them to invalidate the warranty because you tried to fix it yourself...

Congratulations! This is relatively good news, at least in terms of severity. Those cabin air filters aren't the easiest to get to, though...

Re: New to the baja world

One option for lowering is to get Legacy GT shocks (e.g. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HS0H8P0). See photos comparing the Baja/Outback shocks to the Legacy GT shocks. Sorry, can't help with the exhaust.

Re: Rear blinkers and hazards?

Also check all of the fuses under the dash, not just the one labeled for the turn signals. If I remember correctly, when my horn fuse blew, the turn signals and hazard lights stopped working properly... Never did look into why that was.

Re: Need rear diff 2003 Manual NA

This transmission chart might be a good place to start: http://www.gearhack.com/myink/ViewPage.php?file=docs/Subaru%20Transmission%20Chart My understanding is, any 2000-2004 Outback/Legacy rear diff with the same ratio will work, but haven't had a need to try it personally. What happened to the curr...

Re: Hooov Noise

Have you noticed any other patterns when the noise happened? Like, were you turning, had extra weight on a particular side, ran over something on the road (not necessarily debris; could be some road repair), specific gear, or anything that was common between the times you heard it?

I don't really have any evidence or specifics... just posts in threads: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/sti-master-cyl-and-brake-booster-swap-summary-lgt-181067.html I'm sure most LGT owners feel that their brake pedal is subpar and inadequate compared to other cars they've driven...swine ...

STI Brake Booster?

Hi, I've been thinking about swapping in an STI brake booster/master cylinder into my 2003 Baja, but can't find much clear information about what would be a drop-in replacement. It seems like the 2004-2007 BB/MC would be the best bet, but is there a better option, or combination of options (like an ...

Check out this thread... This worked for me: http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f87/how-adjust-c-compressor-clutch-116835/?nocache=1468578524745 The only thing I would recommend differently from him is to use the AC clutch removal tool, which you can rent for free from many US and Canadian auto...
