Re: What did you do to your Baja today?
Today...Put in HID's, was going to buy non-turbo single bulb housings and put in led's or extend the cap in the original housing with some pvc pipe so led's would fit, but this way seemed cheaper and easier. I was going to buy some JDM HID housings but after looking closer they looked pretty much id...

Re: Very dim headlights
A little late and you may have figured it out now, but when I got my Baja one of the headlight bulbs was jammed in upside down. So it was pointing way off and not lighting up the road. Flipped the bulb and reaimed both of them a little and then they were ok, not great but acceptable.

Re: Need a new exhaust manifold for my baja
You can use the manifolds from about any turbo subaru. There should be lots of good cheap used ones from wrx's for sale that will work And as long as you are down there, put on a catless up-pipe, it could keep your turbo from being destroyed if the up-pipe cat ever goes bad. The manifolds are usuall...

Re: 1985 Turbo Brat Upgraded turbo?
They are interesting cars but there isn't much you can do on those, everything will have to be custom made. The turbos, downpipe's and intercoolers from the newer turbo subarus are different. I think they only have like 91HP, so if you really wanted an improvement a 130hp from a 2.2 legacy would mak...

Re: 03' Baja Purchase - 400,000 KMS
Those miles are not too bad for a non-turbo, no reason it won't get another 5-10 years of service on the original motor. My 05 turbo has 237,000 miles and I put on 100 more every day on my commute.

Re: Would an EJ20 2 liter be compatible in an 05’ Turbo?
The motor was probably $700 from ebay,vs $2500 for the same engine it had. The ej20 could likely be non-avcs and non-tvg so the codes for the missing parts can not be cleared, they will instantly come back. You can get a tatrix cable to plug your baja into a laptop, remove those codes from the ecu a...

Re: Broken Exhaust Troubles
It was $369, surprised it's out of stock already. It's been a week now and no leaks or problems. Also, their picture isn't right, it does have a cat in it.

Re: STI Conversion for Baja
That is alot of power and not an easy or cheap swap. The automatics will take an increase in power but to make 350whp your putting out 400hp+, or about double the 210hp it has now and even 100hp more than an STI. The auto trans won't take it that much and it will pretty much mean changing everything...

Re: Subaru Baja MPG thread
50/50 City / highway was 19 when I my 05 turbo 5spd last month, after injector cleaning and spraying out the MAF have been getting 22-23 driving the same route. Best so far was 24 with 70% freeway, but it still may needs plugs and the O2 sensor looks original. Also, we use to have an 05 NA 5 speed, ...

Mine was pretty hard the first time too, but yes push the clip and slide the slider all the way back and it will just pop out, eventually.

Steering Wheel Swap
One thing I didn't care for about the baja was the big boat steering wheel, I think subaru had been using that same wheel since 1993. https://i.imgur.com/h5petUD.jpg So I found one a bit smaller, more modern looking one and that feels better. The cruise switch is different between both wheels and no...

Re: What did you do to your Baja today?
Got this at auction 2 weeks ago for $3800 with a bad clutch. IMG_20170915_131525 (Medium).jpg So far put a clutch in it, catless up-pipe, fixed an oil leak from the right valve cover and oil cooler, tires, then put in a Pioneer touch screen. Tomorrow is an underseat subwoofer, then next week swappin...
