Re: Replacement Seat - Cipher Auto

>In your estimate would the original seat need to be pretty much dismantled/welds drilled out to reuse the rails? I am guessing so since you went a different way... Yes - That's exactly the case. I looked at the Baja rails and each time I looked a another corner, I thought 'there's no way these are ...

Re: Replacement Seat - Cipher Auto

Riding around after the install, I can tell that the seat is 1 or 2 inches higher than stock. I'm 6' tall, and headroom was never a problem before. Now, things are a bit tight when I'm wearing a baseball cap. Seats are comfortable and firm.

Re: Front Rotor 2020 Choices

I just put on Bosch 48011475 QuietCast - $51 each from Mr. Bezos. If you're in his club, he ships for free. Note that I've changed a lot of brake rotors (not for a mechanic, but for a civilian), and I had trouble with the Subaru rotors because they didn't feel like they were 'on'. There's no set scr...

Replacement Seat - Cipher Auto

Finished installing some Cipher Auto CPA1019 seats this weekend. Black with gray stitching in my 2005 Turbo. They are priced OK at $360 a pair. I told my wife Subaru specifies new seats every 200K or 15 years, whatever comes first. I don't think she bought it. I had initially thought I'd just pull t...

Re: Back-up Lamp Switch Replacement 2003 Baja

I don't know that I can provide a link, but I can tell you that I just did this repair on my 2005 turbo 5 speed Baja and it didn't take long. Fixed the problem, which is always nice. I just got under the car while it was on ramps and looked for the switch on the tranny. There were 2 similar switches...

Custom Bed Caps

I didn't really want to pay $10 per plastic cap, and wasn't too attached to the look or function of the stock caps. I made a few tries with some special nuts, but that didn't really work. I tried the plastic Acura caps mentioned elsewhere, but they didn't really fit on my bed. The solution that for ...

Re: Baja Dash Difference

Thanks, all. I thought all years were all the same too. I know all the legacy ones are woodgrain. That wouldn't be the end of the world, but probably wouldn't look too good. Not that the busted plastic that is in there now looks too good. In fact, it looks awful. Well, I think I'm gonna try to get t...

Baja Dash Difference

Anyone know why the dash bezel for the 03 is a different part than for the 04/05/06? Some jerk stole my radio and they were not gentle about it. Can't find a replacement, and they don't sell the 04/5/6 center dash piece anymore. I'd buy an 03 part if I thought it would fit and the color would be OK....

Piano in Baja and Cargo Eyelets

I'm going to try to post pics of how we moved my piano this weekend using my Baja - Let's see if I can actually accomplish that... http://upload4.postimage.org/1167129/BajawithPiano1.jpg There's the piano in the Baja - We used some handicap ramps and a flat dolly to push it up and in there. 2 guys m...
