Re: Oil level reading
If you'd like, I can measure my tube and dipstick lengths. I have a 2003 NA (I'd think they'd be the same as the 2005 NA, but not 100% sure).

Re: How is the stereo wired up in a 2003 model?
Do you have an amplifier for the speakers? It looks like the Android Car Stereo in the Ebay link does not have a built-in amp. They don't have any useful images, like a wiring diagram or even a close-up of the wiring harness, so can't say for sure. The ad doesn't mention anything related to speaker ...

Re: H6 5-speed swap Subaru
One thing you can try is going to parts.subaru.com and looking up the parts in question for either car, then checking the 'This part also fits' section. If the other car is listed, it's compatible (assuming both cars are in factory configuration). If not, it doesn't necessarily mean it's not compati...

Re: Rear differential fluid
Everything I read online says, no, don't put in an LSD additive. Yes, you do have a rear LSD (from the factory, anyway), but it's a sealed unit. The gear oil isn't getting to the LSD-specific parts. You just use the same 75W90 oil that's used for the transmission.

Re: Problem when turning... diffrrential?
My first guess is a wheel bearing, followed by CV joint... Although, if it was the CV joint, it should happen all of the time, I'd think. The front diff is open, so there aren't any LSD-specific things to bind. Could be the center diff, since that is an LSD (limited-slip differential), and during ti...

Re: Double DIN head unit w/backup camera
I got the buttons from an old Dell LCD monitor, and soldered the wires to the buttons inside the tablet.

Re: Identify a connector, please
I don't remember seeing an unused connector on mine...
Does the connector look like the windshield washer pump connector, but keyed differently? If so, maybe you have a wiring harness from an Outback/Legacy, and that connector could be for the rear window washer pump.

The link in the second post has diagrams, including the automatic. Are you looking for a particular picture or diagram?

Re: Replacing the Baja radio.
Any particular reason why you want to get an OEM radio? Is it simply to have a "Subaru" logo so it looks proper, or do you think it'll be more compatible/reliable?

Re: Transmission Interchange
My understanding is that any 5 speed manual transmission will swap... That's my understanding, too, for a manual-to-manual swap. Looks like the OP has an auto and wants to convert to a manual. Besides everything already said, I think I read somewhere that the center (trans to rear diff) drive shaft...

Re: USB on 2006 Baja Sport
Do you just want to charge your device, or use the USB port to play audio through the factory radio? If you just want to charge, you can get any of those 12V to USB cigarette adapters, hack it up and install it behind the dash, and run a flush-mount extension like https://www.amazon.com/s/?keywords=...

Re: Very dim headlights
The headlights on mine have three possible states: On, DRL (HL switch off, ignition on, handbrake down) which is a lower voltage than On, and Off. If, somehow, the lights were only operating in DRL mode (faulty switch, for example), that could cause them to appear dim. However, that would only be tr...

Re: Baja Turbo jerking on acceleration.
Ah, okay, my bad. My friend's car also has a similar problem where it does that. Supposedly the wires to one of the sensors (I think crank position in his case) is loose or something, so the ECU loses that signal and cuts the fuel/ignition until it returns. But I'd think the Baja would throw a code ...
