Re: Gas Smell When Running Heater

It's a gas line hose clamp under the intake manifold. I live in Las Vegas (usually warm) and when I drive to the mountains of southern Utah (10K feet elevation & usually cold) I ALWAYS 100% of the time get the gas smell. If you use a flashlight and look down through your intake manifold runners ...

Re: A new twist on tire chains...

Last weekend I used generic chains I bought from Walmart, on the front wheels (factory wheels and Potenzas) and had no issues with rubbing. I was plowing through snow that was piling up on the hood of the car.

Re: Intermittent Vibration in '04 Turbo 5MT - Driving me crazy!

Update! On Monday I said to my buddy "If I can't ever diagnose this problem, I'll just drive it till something breaks, then I'll know!!" On Tuesday the noise got abruptly worse, clicking and clacking. "CV joint!" I said to myself. The local Import parts shop sold me a new half-sh...

Re: Intermittent Vibration in '04 Turbo 5MT - Driving me crazy!

44K miles, just purchased from original owner (late July). The only records I have are from the most recent oil changes, and a receipt for a new clutch (!!) at 35K miles. I don't know that any 30K or 40K mile maintenance has been done on it, and I'm still a noob when it comes to Subies- I had a '91 ...

Intermittent Vibration in '04 Turbo 5MT - Driving me crazy!

Hey fellas- long story short, we had an alignment done on Aug 26, and since then we've had an intermittent vibration that's getting worse. You know how it feels when you have warped rotors? The steering wheels shakes the same way, and there is a waa waa waa noise that seems to come from the right fr...

Re: Subaru SVX wheels on a Baja

One of the guys in the local Subaru forum got back to me: "SVX wheels are 5x114. All 5-lug Subaru other than 05+ STI are 5x100." So it isn't looking good...

Subaru SVX wheels on a Baja

Greetings! Relatively new '04 T 5MT owner here. I found a set of 16" SVX (225/50 16) wheels in my local junkyard, and I'm wondering if they will fit on the Baja. I'm guessing the SVX wheels are also 5x100 bolt pattern, but I don't know the offset. I'd really like to grab just 1 of them to use a...

Re: In need of a Spare Tire "Donut" for a 06 baja turbo

Our '04 spare was used for the 1st time last weekend, and it was barely usable. There is a rubber crack the whole way around the sidewall. Size is: T145/80 16. I checked with my local discount tire store, and they say they can't get them; it is dealer only. They also contacted Tire Rack who said the...

Re: #2 Cooling fan stuck on

We bought an '04 Baja T last weekend and last night I noticed that the 2nd fan (passenger side) turns on as soon as you put the key in the "on" position. Are we doomed? Have any Baja owners had success replacing just the fan relay? Based on the myriad threads on the LegacyGT forums, this i...
