Re: Rear seat for 3??

I have the outback (and had a Baja) and yes it looks like a direct swap (according to the tape measure) BUT!!!! the Outback seat is not designed to fold up :x So it would seem that the switch back usefullness (and honestly- how useful is the tiny little opening anyway?? I used to haul so much crap i...

Re: interesting problem

Also check the brakes- the caliper maybe sticking and the grinding your hearing is the pad warning system- it usually starts out when you step on the brakes- but NOT always- mine did the same thing as yours and it was just a stuck caliper.

Re: Highest miles on a Baja (so far!)?

Just sold to my MIL my 03 Sport (I was second owner- had 50,000 when I bought it) She gets it with 101,000 miles- only stuff done to it- is a couple sets of tires, couple headlight bulbs, a taillight bulb, rear brakes (brake pads fell out on one side- very weird)- No other major repairs- oh I did we...

Re: Subaru Baja MPG thread

Well I was getting 28MPG over the summer (03 N/A, 5spdM with 100,000) in winter it dipped a bit to 26- but I hate scrapping so a lot of that was idle time- Of course I drive like i'm 90 years old- shift at 19 to 2100 RPM- no jack rabbiting- mostly back roads (55 to 60 MPH) So far the 06 Outback is o...

Re: Would Subaru ever make a new Baja?

It would be great- but very unlikely- Subaru is one of the few car companies showing any kind success right now- and they did that by sticking with what works- modifying what needs modifying- and dumping what doesn't work- and as harsh and horrible as it sounds- the Baja was just unpopular. Subaru r...

Also don't discount the LOW LOW LOW center of gravity (the WHOLE reason for the Boxer) a lower center of gravity will give the impression of tons of Torque (I used to ride snowmobiles and you always felt like the dang things were gonna TOSS you off the back- the engines that stay closer to the groun...

SHould be ok- I have hauled wood up to camp (mostly pallets), large bags of jars (for work) a bunck of junk from camp to home (wagon, paint, weedkiller, tent poles, and other junk that mysteriouly got out to camp and never got home!). I've also taken the Baja Rock collecting (a serious hobby for me)...
