Actually that is the factory location for Canadian spec. trucks - the switch for the heated windshield takes a spot left of the steering wheel. Is this truck a non US model?

Re: SnugTop SnugLid removal
well you on the right track - sounds like the plates have gotten stuck in position. You might want to try spraying a little wd40 on the pockets to let it loosen things up a bit and then try tapping the bottom of the plates lightly to free them. the large section of cover should lift strait up and of...

Wow! What years were the 360 and that pickup? I had a Suburu wagon back in 74 (first gas crisis) and I'd never heard of subaru before that. Also had a Honda 600 coupe, I wish I still had....................Pete L. The 360 dates back to the late 60's - here's a little history http://www.cars101.com/...

Re: Is there a cabine filter in the 2003 Baja?
most people make their own filters by cutting down a furnace one as the factory ones are a bit pricey.

Re: Droning Noise
Sounds like some of the plastic ductwork has come loose - during a oil change if the tech checks the air filter sometimes one of the connections will be left disconnected.

Re: Is this a bad buy?..help me please
If anything it might be a bit low, the best thing to do is go to the auto trader website and search for Bajas in your area.

That should give you an idea of what to ask

Re: Should I replace Battery pre-emptively?
No, I think you were on the right track - Sube battery's aren't know for their longevity. I know I replaced mine in my 03 about a year ago for the same reason.

03 classic is exactly what I have, although it is a Canadian Spec. model. I seam to recall something about U.S. models not getting the heated front glass tho.

Re: Heated Mirrors
Nope there are separate switches for the windshied, mirror and back window heat. Back window control is by AC controls, mirrors are on the drivers door above window switches and windshield heat is by the cruse control button.

I think it would be fine. steel cable is stronger then you might think. I got these numbers from a hardware supply catalog -
1/8 galvanized cable breaking strength is 2000 pounds, 5/32 is 2800, 3/16 is 4200 and 1/4 is 7000

The Hella supertones are almost a direct replacement. unbolt old, bolt on new horn with bracket, connect the connector and a ground. I thought I remember from way back in the Forum that these required the use of a relay to work properly and not cause wiring overload, etc.. Some folks had posted wir...
