My wife noticed that the gear selector knob for the automatic gearshift on my 2003 Baja Sport is kinda hard to move recently. I did spill coke on it a while back and the outside temps have been well below freezing lately. Can this gear shifter knob be lubricated? I think I know how to remove the console, because I already removed it to replace the rubber tabs in the cup holders. Another thread on this board said how to replace the cup holders.
Is there an adjustment or can this just be lubricated? Should I use lithium grease or WD-40 or what should I use to lubricate it? Is it a tension adjustment or does it just need to be lubed?

Fixed! I went to the auto parts store and got an aerosol can of White Lithium Grease spray. I removed the plastic trim and sprayed underneath the mechanism as well as using the nozzle straw to spray around and into the gearshift and now it works as good as new!
