Sport Activity Light wiring

Post by PlaidPineapple »

I've checked the other threads and haven't found anything about this odd problem.

I just installed the activity lights on my 04 turbo.

Everything seemed to fit- I have the big round relay that attaches to the side of the relay panel and found the connector that fits to it.

Problem is... no light.

I double checked the connections and found that the connector that fits to the relay only has a single wire going into it.
I think its blue and white.

Now I'm not an electrical wiz or anything, but i know that a relay that is mounted on plastic (insulated and ungrounded) with only one lead going into it when there should be 4, isn't going to do anything.

Has anyone else seen this before?

is this the subaru sport lights?

i dont have them installed but if your sure you installed everything right then the only obvious question i have would be is your emergency brake on? the factory sport lights dont work without it on, unless you override the wiring.

Well, I decided to get the relay that was recommended. And it actually worked!
I'm not sure what that connection is for that fits with the relay that came with the kit, or why it fit.
But whatever- I think the 04 is a bit off in the wiring anyway.
I had a wiring diagram for the stereo- but my car ended up being the same as the 04 impreza diagram.
