I just bought the "kit" on ebay. It looks like it has 2 pieces. If one goes in the glovebox, where does the second filter go?bajabob wrote:this should give you some idea of whats involved-

I posted in the Technical discussions forum a question about wether there was anything else besides the filters needed to add cabin air filtration, and nobody ever answered that post directly.
Thanks,

So the first time you replaced the original filter, can you postively confirm that both of the 2 filter pieces do in fact go into the Glovebox as others are speculating?
It is impossible to get any information on this.

I dunno anything about 2 pieces? When I took the old one out it was one piece. Just a corrugated paper filter like you put in the home HVAC unit except about 6" squared...I just used it as a template and cut up one of those trim-to-fit HVAC jobs.

All I know is that the kit I ordered from eBay has 2 filters.spazchicken wrote:I dunno anything about 2 pieces?
I am assuming, per bajabob, that both pieces go into the glovebox.

Hi, new to this site, which is absolutly great, have a bit of insight for you. Both filters do indeed install behind the glove box on our glorious Bajas. The smaller of the two slides in then up, followed by the second filter, both directly after air leaves the blower. I have a bit of insiders info being that I work for the service department of my local suby dealer about 2 miles away from where they were built.

Re: in cabin air filter
I got my filter kit from Ebay. it is the genuine Subaru OEM kit.steveorocks wrote:Where does the in cabin air filter install?
It came with detailed instructions, which I attempted to scan as a PDF, try this.
Note to Moderators: Maybe this file is worth adding to the Baja Library, since I have seen at least 3 threads asking about this topic. I don't know if it is copyrighted or not!
I have not yet installed the kit, I am going to wait for the weather to warm up. I am afraid to see how dirty the glovebox area is, since I have had the car almost 3 years (I haven't yet hit 35k miles) and never had cabin filters installed.
