Registering Baja in NYS, Commercial Vehicle or not?

Post by davecoon13 »

In NY State, apparently "pickups" must be registered as Commercial vehciles depending on wether they have a cap or not. Does the Baja have to be registered in NY State as a Commercial vehicle?

Mine isn't. When I purchased mine, the dealer transfered my registration from my Saturn to the Baja. Nothing commercial about it. I don't have a cab on the truck bed, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Ours isn't either. It was funny when we went to register it and thy asked if it was a cr or truck-we were like uhhhh. They looked to see what other ones were registered as, then picked that. It's registered like an el Camino...

When mine got registered through work at the stealership, it was registered as a truck. I was told that anything in Wisconsin that has a box on the back of it is a truck. So it is registered that way. Costs more money, but what else can you do if thats the rules. It sucks. Mike
Even though I work on Dodges, I don't own one.
