Toyo Open Country 235/75R16... 2" lift over stock. Slight grind when turning hard. Just called RenickMotorsports in CA about theScorpion lift kit. renickmotorsports.com. The tires wont grind with the lift.

Ok, so I wasn't really in the market for a new vehicle...but I came across the Baja, and that it was no longer in production...and had to have one!

Purchased Jan 31, 07

My first full week with it!!! The day after I bought it, we had snow...Hooray! I was so anxious to get out and drive it, so I went to work. The odd thing is, I have never seen a Baja on the road before around here....but as I was pulling into the strip mall where I work, there was a black one leaving!!

Ozzbros Cover Pix

Post by capttripps »

I researched the covers to death before I got mine so thanks to all who contributed pix and their 2 cents. (I had just washed the car, in 13 degree weather, so you'll see ice on the cover.) Also, the pix of the inside of the bed shows how wet it gets after a wash. Not too bad.

I installed it myself and it was easy. I do see how the $75 tailgate bar would reinforce the strength of the attachment but the 2 self threading screws right into the plastic of the tailgate is good, for now. I LOVE the cover. It's strong and beautiful and so very useful for function. Simple to lift off and throw in the back seat and goes back on just as easily. Very well worth the $$ IMO.

Our pair of Bajas'. Both are Sports, 06 on the left, 04 with on the right. Would of loved to get a turbo, but with the amount of miles the wifey drives (not to mention her heavy right foot) decided against it :)

Fresh pics from my trip to STPR 2007. We came upon this river crossing on one of the State Roads (SR287) near Wellsboro. I'll be honest, it did spit and sputter for 5 minutes afterwards (I think maybe some water got onto the spark plug wires somehow)

I think i'll look into getting a safari intake for next time...

[smilie=geesturbed.gif] Good work!

I've wondered about "deep" water and Bajas. Besides the spark plugs being low to the ground also remember the transmission dipstick. It doesn't really seal and may have taken in some water.
Did you take in water in through the intake?

I'll be up in West Virginia during the 4th of July. Do you foresee another off road adventure around then? :D

There may have been some water in the intake, but it's a testament to the stock system that I got through without sucking in mass quantities. Come to think of it, the stock "cold air" funnel may have really filled up pretty good. I'll yank out the silencer box in the fender and see if it's got any fish in it

Where in West Vinginia? I work weekends, so I have Mon-Thurs off every week...

I would really like to get some better tires before any major mud adventures (the stock Potenza's are crap for traction).

I'll be in Clarksburg, WV. I'm heading up on the 4th of July and will leave out early on the 8th. Looks like Thursday might be our only shot. :D

I'm still on the factory Potenza's with almost 60,000 miles.

I sent you a pm with my email.

Any other Bajas out there?

I posted these in the Colorado forum already... but for those who don't read there often...

My 03 Classic, which I have since given to my 16 year old brother...

These are a few crappy camera phone pics... The pearl white is mine, yellow one is my brother's, and the black one is my mom's. Black and white are both 05 Turbo.
