Removing the lock from the Ozzbros cover.

I did search the forum for how to remove the lock from the Ozzbros cover on my Baja. I live in South Florida, I wanted to open the tonneau to get some rags and the key did not open the lock, I put WD40 and try to force it open with a pair of players to no avail, so my question is how to remove the lock mechanism, is it possible to to remove from the out side or do I have to go thru the trap door in the cab, please any suggestions would or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve replaced my lock before. Unfortunately I did so from the underside of the cover so I think that is the only way to remove it.
