Late Baja

Post by sandmtnjeep »

I've got an 06 Baja Turbo that was built in April 06 which is when production was supposed to have stopped. I was wondering what the VIN number of the last one produced would be, that way I could tell how close to the end mine was produced. Thanks for any help.

This is unfortunately impossible to determine as we don't know exactly how many units were built per year, let alone in total. We only have the units sold per year, by month:

The last 6 digits of your VIN is the sequential production number though, all model years starting at unit 100001.

Actually, it's totally possible. I posted the exact # of vins issued according to Subaru's dealer parts software (FAST II). Assuming the vins are issued in chronological order per year, you could a see where your car stacks up.

All you need to do is download FAST II, download a free hex editor program, and create scripts to erase all the extraneous data, and sort the Baja vins. It sounds like a pain in the ass, cause it is! ;)

Well, the last six of my VIN is 107048 and according to the charts there wasn't 7048 produced in 2006. There should be a way to find the last VIN produced and see how close to the end mine is. Thanks for the help.
