Planted seat brackets

Post by ebo03 »

Just in case anybody was wondering, Planted makes a seat bracket for Bajas. SB261 is the exact same as SB210 (3rd Gen Legacy).

I have been considering a Recaro Speed so I reached out to Planted a few weeks ago to see if the SB210 would fit a Baja. Well looks like they found a test vehicle and it does fit! Their rep said they assigned a new part # just to eliminate any possible confusion with multiple models sharing the same part.

I couldn't stand the stock Baja seats and replaced them with a pair of Recaro Expert M seats purchased from vividracing.com.

They sold me Griffen Motorworke brackets which fit perfectly. I also bought the Griffen sliding seat belt brackets which I ended up not using due to some sort of interference (don't recall exactly where) but the seat belts work just fine without them.

Couldn't be happier!

And as a reminder, STi V8 and V7 seats (others as well probably) bolt right in. I much prefer the 7s to the 8s, widely available at most JDM importers.

Planted bracket arrived yesterday. Recaro sliders should be here tomorrow. I hope to have the Recaro Speed by the end of the month.

All I need is a seat. It should arrive next week.

How much lower are those seats and rails??
My hair touches the headliner and it drives me bonkers! [smilie=boggl3y3dummy-ani.gif]
FYI- I already installed 2002 wrx seats which are about 1”lower than stock seats- but I like to sit way low!!!!!

I'm going to estimate it at an inch or two lower than stock. I definitely feel like I'm sitting down in my Recaro seat compared to the passenger.
