After routing and minimizing the underhood harness, I started working on the accessories. I have used POR 15 and I cannot suggest it enough. You need to use the whole system, clean and degrease, acid etch, POR 15, and chassis black over it and you get a lifetime finish. Tonight I did the casting for the alternator and AC compressor.

One of the best tools for restoration like this is soda blasting, you can buy a nice one from Harbor Freight, they sell two and be sure to buy the bigger one, Here are before and after photos, one side blasted and one side not. You can blast painted or rusted surfaces down to bare metal and it won't harm rubber.

A while back I got the 3rd eye light working, the trouble was in the switch mech, the unit turns out to be simple and reliable.
Re: 82 Brat paint overhaul
I heard the third light was a courtesy light for passing. Does anyone on the road get it or is it just nostalgia?

The owners manual just tells you it is there and calls it a driving lamp, it does not suggest a use. I think as a company known for gadgets and quirky designs someone just suggested it would be neat if the logo flipped open to reveal a bigger light so they did it.

The remainder of the parts from the interior are ready to go in. The most important remaining thing I need are new or super good condition OEM seats, these are out of a Loyal and I want the originals, if you have any please PM me!!

Re: 82 Brat paint overhaul
Got it back with the targa stripe on, I suck at decals so I got it done at the shop where I had the paint done. I am still looking for seats, and a few minor bits that I would like better condition for. I am going to take it to cars and coffee this weekend, there are about 200~400 amazing cars there every Sat, anything from a pre WWI steam car up to the latest exotic and something like the Brat fits right in.
