So this replaces the plastic skid plate in the front, the one that "protects" the oil filter and such? Very pricey but VERY cool! I love gadgets!!

If you do any off-roading at all the plastic shield provides no protection. It was designed as a splash shield. Mine is in pieces , lol.

Think of the skidplate as an insurance policy. It cost a lot less than if you hit a rock or stump that goes through the oilpan. Subie engines aren't cheap to replace.

Next up (at least on my wish list)... lift kit
