Soft Cover Removal!

Post by XTrooper »

What does it take? Any suggestions?

I just bought a 2006 Baja Sport. It came with the OEM soft cover and I really hate it as itt makes lowering and raising the tailgate a frigging project and I think I'm going to replace it with an Ozzbros hard cover. Any help/suggestions for filling the holes created by the soft cover installation will be greatly appreciated. Can the drilled top rails themselves be replaced? Any have part #s/prices for them?

Thanks!

I'm afraid I can't help with what you need, XTrooper, but if you get the job done PM me about your soft cover? Not sure we can afford it just now, but I'd like to see. Thanks.

Will do. When I get a chance, I'm going to stop at the local Subie dealer where I bought my Baja (they're less than a mile away) and ask their parts department about it. Hopefully, they'll have an exploded view with part numbers.

If you're still looking to do the swap, a lot of times you can find someone to sell the cover to who will also send you their stock rails in exchange for your pre-drilled ones.
