Did any one ever install a USB on the factory radio?

Never seen a USB port added straight to the radio, most of us use a Jazzy kit for an AUX input (+silent CD) as far as I can tell. Either that or just a USB charge-only port tapped off something else.

Do you just want to charge your device, or use the USB port to play audio through the factory radio?

If you just want to charge, you can get any of those 12V to USB cigarette adapters, hack it up and install it behind the dash, and run a flush-mount extension like https://www.amazon.com/s/?keywords=flush+mount+usb+port

If you want to play music files stored on a USB flash drive, in theory, you can use an MP3 decoder like https://www.amazon.com/Yeeco-Lossless-D ... B00VV2B7G2 then run that to the Jazzy kit. Looks like there are a bunch of seemingly-identical boards for as low as $2.50, and other units apparently designed for use in cars https://www.amazon.com/s/?field-keyword ... car+stereo

The easiest solution, however, is to just buy a replacement deck/head unit with a built-in USB port.

I installed a USB rocker switch from Amazon where the coin holder is. I took the power from the cigarette livhter because it shuts off with the key. Works perfect and easy to do.

I just put in a different radio head unit that has USB, very easy to do.

For charging only you can get a cigarette lighter USB adapter (but the car needs to be on to charge) - there might be a way around that by changing up some of the power wiring to the cigarette lighter so its always on.
