wheel bearing noise at 60-65 howling sound

Post by jdlmodelt » Fri Jan 06, 2017 10:41 am

I think I have a bad wheel bearing. Just need to determine which one. It howls around 60-65mph. I jacked it up and all wheels are tight with no play in them so the "jiggle/wiggle" test doesn't help. I'll jack up again and take the wheel off of each hub and then rotate and see if I can hear or feel any non smoothness or resistance when rotating the hubs. Not sure how to pin it down unless the sound becomes more intense and more localized?

Have you checked the CV axel? I was getting an odd noise and turned out my boot was ripped, also contributing the same side was a faulty caliper
