A year of post lift.

Post by feltoid »

So after a year of lifting my 03 Baja.
Love it lifted. Did the lift with new 05 Baja springs and went with Sachs struts.
Well after 100k with the old cv Axels both inner boots tore.
Replaced them along with diff Axel seals.
Other than that only one other issue, whenever I hit a bump in the road (not a pothole) and my rear suspension maxes out a loud clank can be heard. After some investigating it's my rear sway bar links making contact with the lateral links.
Any thoughts about solving this problem will be much appreciated.
My thoughts it to go with longer sway bar links.

Same problem I had..
Options:
1- new bushings for rear suspension and endlinks
2- cut endlink and weld in .25-.5" extension or adjustable endlinks
3- remove rear sway bar
I did new endlinks, still clanked, cut and welded an extension, that worked. I then decide to just remove the sway bar( okay maybe because my weld sucked and it broke) but any ways I dont even notice a difference. Even after the big lift I still dont have it on. Eventually I'm going to make dissconnects for the front when offroading.
I would suggest putting 20mm wheel spacers on to help with the width vs heigth..plus it is amazing how much better it handles.
( the center of the wheel is still over the hub so min. If any additional stress)
