Is this image the trailer wiring plug? I read that the plug needs to have it's cover pulled off but this plug, directly behind the right wheel well, does not appear to be covered. Perhaps the cover is missing. Is this plug, as it is, ready to accept a wiring harness adapter? Thanks in advance for any help. Tim

Looks familiar to me, from when I did mine. I had the same question when I first located it, because the cap looks strangely like a plug opening. If the 6 pin holes on the plug are open and exposed, then the cap is missing (can't tell from your photo). If they are just part of the moulding, then just wiggle the cap off to get to the real thing.

Here's a closer photo. Does this come off?

Yes, that's the cover. Release the little prongs on each side and pull.

It's not really a "cover", more like a dummy plug with no pins or wires. Just put mine on this weekend.
