tailgate question

I just got this Baja and noticed that the Subaru emblem on the tailgate is missing. I would like to replace it but I see two small threaded holes that are 8" apart near the top of the tailgate. Are these holes for screws that attach the Subaru badge? From pictures, it looks to me that they are stuck on with adhesive.

The badge is just adhesive, but there are the two holes there on all of them. Not sure what they are for. Probably made manufacturing easier or guarantees that the badge lines up.
