Cheaper Crossbar Option

Post by huck369 »

My BAJA didn't have the cross bars when I purchased it, but I had a wrecked 2002 Forester, so I pulled the bars off it, and modded them to work on the BAJA...
I'll post pics as I can, and maybe a how-to on what mods I had to do when I get a chance to type it up..

Had to cut the rear bar down 2 inches, but made the front one work with existing adjustments.

Not much to it, just took a sawzall and cut off one end, and drilled it to mount the "Foot" back on the end.

The Basket is the Subaru Basket, was purchased from Subaru, by a friend of mine when the BAJA's first came out.

Yakima has a basket that is almost, if not identical, to this one. I bought one and the bar set, used it during the first few years I owned my Baja. Very light duty and noisy, so I upgraded to a Rola. Still noisy but much more practical.
