Post by beancountertx »

Would like to replace the fuel filter on 2005 Baja Turbo. Where is it located?? Is it really a lifetime item?

I believe its in the tank with the fuel sending unit/fuel pump assy at least on my 05 N/A it is. The dealership wants to sell me the entire assy to get the filter $350+ just for the part. They also said they don't change them unless their is a problem. I have however found the filter (its a little cartridge not the sock) online costs about $40 plus shipping. Check with 1st Subaru parts or your local dealer as the turbo may have a slightly different fuel system. I'll try to post a link to the place I found the filters, I was planning on changing mine in another 2K. Will post pics of the procedure after i complete it hope this helps some.
