Turbo owners - whist Oil Filter are you using?

Post by SteveNC »

I have a 2005 Baja Turbo, completely stock. when I purchased it the previous owner gave me two blue Subaru filters (15208AA12A) and on my first oil change it had what I think was the discontinued black filter or maybe an aftermarket filter - it was not as big diameter as the blue. I’m now out of the blue filters and was hoping to find the black filters (15208AA080) but I’ve had no luck finding old stock.

What is everyone else using?

In an old thread on bobistheoilguy.com, there was indication that these new blue OEM filters might be repackaged Fram filters. After a few bad experiences with Fram oil filters on Toyota’s and Mazda’s I won’t buy Fram oil filters any more.

I run Wix or Napa Gold (made by Wix) on everything.
