Baja #

Post by SpencerKG »

Hey, everyone! I've been looking for a way to find out for a while but can't quite figure it out...
Does anyone know how to find out what number your baja is? Like production number or really anything? Wanting to get some numbers on the driver side on the bed area between where the cladding and truck bed where the gas cap would be.

Any ideas on numbers I could put there or how to figure out what # my baja is? 2003 NA MT VIN: 4S4BT62CX36114689

Seems like there is a chart here somewhere. I just went and looked at mine again (as I hadn't seen a build date, which is unusual for "newer vehicles). On the lower part of the drivers door, facing downward (why I hadn't seen it) was a sticker with the info and "manufactured 8/02" on it. This makes mine one of the earlier ones. My vin: 4S4 BT61C4 36101423 Dennis

The last 6 digits of the VIN should be the production number. The first of the 6 digits will always be a 1 and only ~38,000 were built, so ignore this as it's just a placeholder.

I'm questioning the validity of the numbering.

I've got an '05. Last 6 of the Vin are: 107632.

Based upon your decipher... that would make the vast majority of the 38,000 vehicles '06 models. aka ~ 30k of the vehicles are later MY05 & MY06's.

So your 05 is #7632. The sequential production number starts at "100001" for each model year.
