Smells like burnt oil

I have a 2005 Baja when I turn off engine it smells like oil on exhaust manifold but it don’t use oil oil no oil on garage floor any advice

The lower engine cover will keep small leaks from making it to the floor.

Could be the early indication of a leak or just spilled oil from the last oil change.

It could be a blown innner CV boot. They have a tendency to spray grease on exhaust components... easy to check.

Plus one on checking the CV Boot. Also, if you catch a split boot early enough you can just add grease and a new boot.

The OEM CV's are high quality. I have replaced a few CV's on Subarus where the rebuilt units were from the git go.

How hard are they to replace? Can you buy replacements from Subaru? Thanks Ronnie

They are fairly easy to replace. Depending on transmission and year they differ slightly. I saw a good how to thread a while back. I will try to find it and post a link.

In short, can be done in an afternoon.
