Tear in seat

Post by bajaman »

This tear in car seat, is this the vinyl or leather part of the seat? How much does a repair cost if i take it to a auto trim shop?
Do they patch it or have to re-do the whole section?

Or, is it something i can repair myself from a kit bought from Autozone ?

I wish I knew. If that tear is on the left side of the driver's seat, then I've got one in the exact same place, though a bit longer/worse.

I'll be following this thread with interest.

Mine been ripped for 4 years or so, since I bought it and it keeps on growing. Buying new skins from Subaru is out of this world (almost $800+ for both upper and lower covers) and finding a used seat is proving to be the hardest part search I've done in years. sigh. good luck

I've got one too - same place. Black duct tape is what I used to cover it up.

I would go to a upholstery shop...a friend of mine just got his lower section redone for $200...The guy used his factory material as a template and made a new one...also renewed all the foam cushion while he was in there...

They have to use a whole section of material (lower half)? I was thinking just to patch it in would be good enough.
