Anything to haul plywood?

Post by jseabolt »

Has anybody come up with a way to haul a 4X8 sheet of plywood in their Baja?

I manage to haul a queensize box springs and matress but have yet to figure out a way to haul a sheet of plywood.

I wondered the same... Then decided I didn't need a full sheet. The shop cut it in half, and I tied down both halves in the bed with the gate down.

I made a frame out of 2x4's that sat in the back of the bed. It had horizontal supports level with the bed sides and 6 feet long. I stacked the drywall on top of that, and used ratchet straps over and down to the tie hooks. It was a little bouncy, but I was just traveling in town, so it worked.

jseabolt,
Check out the thread I created called "versatile bed accessories". I made a rig to do just what you're after. Though I haven't used it yet to carry full 4' wide sheets, I think it's just a matter of proper strapping. Feel free to contact me with questions/comments/concerns.
