Newbie w/ 06 turbo questions

Post by NCScooter »

Hey y'all, I'm new here from North Carolina, have an 06 turbo I bought new in 08, with 70k miles. The power steering stutters a little when it's cold and I think I hear a sound like a water pump. How often do the drive belts (not timing) need to be changed? Do the water pumps last 105k miles or do they need changing sooner? I've done most of my own maintenance on other cars, have only had to change oil on this one. And brake pads. Had a professional change a wheel bearing. Any advice would be welcome, thanks.

The power steering belt is a common issue... I have to periodically tighten mine.

all you need to do is tighten the bolt a little to move the alternator up and add more tension to the belt.
I like it here.... [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

Actually you need to loosen the nut on the front of the tensioner pulley first , the tighten the adjuster bolt a few turns......Then tighten everything back up.
