Other rides?

Post by jaxed »

What are your other rides? What cars tickle your fancy?

Me? I have a Corvair, and a site to support them:

http://www.corvairproject.com

Also, I like Fieros, though I don't own one now. Someday I would like a DeLorean.

As far as other rides, I had a 72 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. I loved that car. Lots of power, with the 472 bored .030 over. I learned alot on that car, switching parts, overhauled the engine, and repainted it. Sold it 2 years ago, didn't have time to spend on it, let alone drive it. My dad has a 62 Studebaker Lark 4-dr. Plain Jane, 3 on the tree. Inline 6, with only 24,000 miles on it. Was a U.P. of Michigan car, so it has had its share of rot. Some of it fixed, but not finished, or even close to being finished. My only other car that I own is a 1969 Corvair Monza. It has 33,000 miles on it. It is in ok condition. I bought it from the dealership I work at. The front suspension crossmember was rotted out and cracked. It was not drivable. It sat at work for a year, and then they sold it to me. It has been sitting for 3 years, but I overhauled the carbs and got it running again this fall. It needs a complete repaint and a few spots of rust repaired. Needs a new gas tank and sender. It will need the carbs gone through again in the spring, as the gas was bad, and the tank is full of crap. Just don't have alot of extra time to work on it, so I have to fix it or get rid of it. I really like it, my first car was a 67 Monza. My dad and I took 2 of them and made one good runner when I was 16 years old. These things drive and handle GREAT!!! ;D
Even though I work on Dodges, I don't own one.

02 WRX Wagon, 93 Ranger to Haul the ATV and of course the 05 Baja.

The cars that I miss the most is my 91 integra LS that I traded in towards a 66 Shelby GT350 clone (N0 one could tell unless you looked at the Shelby VIN plate number and the oil Pan). After we moved I couldn't keep the shelby due to lack of garage so I traded the GT350 in for my 02 WRX. Those are the ones I miss the most. I've had quite a few different cars over the years to get me to the point of being brand loyal now. Would I love a 05 Mustang GT convertible or a 05 V8 Hemi Dodge magnum.....sure but the problems down the road aint worth it :) Next car will be a Legacy GT wagon in a few years and I'll turn the 02 WRX into a hobby car.

The Baja replaced my T-boned '93 Mazda Miata. That car had great build quality and handled great. It was very well engineered.

My other two rides are a '73 Plymouth Road Runner with a 440 and a four speed, and a Honda RC51 (sportbike). I've had a lot of old Mopars over the years, but lately have not been as enthused about them. Guess riding a sportbike's more fun!
