Congrats on the purchase!
I would have to say yep on removable panels. My passenger rear quarter is slightly loose and I can see a plastic clip plug like the interior door panels use.

Re: Starr's photo reference thread / dare I say members journal

Most speakers are pretty close if not identical regarding bolt pattern. Mine required drilling 4 new holes but that was it. Just plug and play. Replacing the head unit can be slightly more challenging though. I'm liking where your Baja is headed, Cory! What Brands and models of aftermarket would yo...

Re: New here. Just picked up my 2006 yesterday

Thanks Mark40. I'm looking forward to some fun years of commuting in this little 4x4. I might actually drive it more than the Porsche this year. Haha!

Re: strange transmission noises lesson

since it was caught in a "V" like valley between the aluminum oil pan and the car sub frame, it was a rigid connection between the natural vibration of the engine and the car body/sub frame. Engines and Tranys are all rubber mounted on these cars to eliminate/minimize the noise and vibration from th...

strange transmission noises lesson

I thought I'd share this interesting learning for the mechanics on here. Our 2013 Honda CR-V started making clunking noises that occasionally sounded like there was a hand full of marbles in the transmission. There was the occasional clunking sounds and excessive vibration and cabin noise. I thought...

Re: New here. Just picked up my 2006 yesterday

The PO had the timing belt replaced at 121k. I'm now at 143k. I see a small oil leak/seep that I would guess is coming from somewhere near the front of the engine before the oil filter and near the plastic timing belt covers. I'm guessing they didn't have the where with all to change the seals while...

looks like you might get away with two fenders and a hood and a grille. I'd repair it

Re: Subaru Baja MPG thread

2006, NA, Automatic, mountain driving and plains driving, 143,000 miles, 91 octane got me 28mpg. I'll be doing some experimenting. I have a source for 88 octane with no ethanol that usually does better in my other cars. I'll see how that does.

Re: New here. Just picked up my 2006 yesterday

Yep. you found the original add. It's been in a couple of minor fender benders. As such, I suspect that's when the PO had the paint scheme two toned. I love the color combo. The buy back with in California with the original owner. It failed to pass emissions and they had the opportunity with 40k mil...

Here's a pic from the dealer. I haven't had a chance to take any myself yet. I like the color combination. I haven't found any with the same colors yet. :)

New here. Just picked up my 2006 yesterday

So I traded my 2008 Honda Civic for a 2006 Subaru with more miles. However, I expect living in SW Colorado, the Baja will better suit my needs. 4x4 for poor weather and unpaved roads. tiny pickup bed to throw the mountain bike in or run to the hardware store for home improvement projects. 4 doors fo...
