Re: Passenger side rear brakeline hole/leak: repair or replace complete lines?

Sorry Guacamole! Missed the fuel filters part - have you ever done that yourself? I haven't done then nor had them done on mine... yet. Until something major goes wrong and I have a need to take out the rear seats to change them I'm just going to leave them as is. That said, if I were in your shoes...

Re: Passenger side rear brakeline hole/leak: repair or replace complete lines?

Slow leak in rear, right brake line. Mech saw “rusted, leaking hole from below car - through little built-in access. I’ve moved rear seats to expose floor from above - mech says he will repair the damaged section. Stick with that or replace entire right side brake line? What's the price difference ...

Re: Got ripped off

I can't recommend one the VA Beach area specifically (since I'm an Eastern Shore guy), but if you're willing to drive 120 miles North and cross the Bay Bridge Tunnel, Gateway Subaru in Delmar, MD has been great to my Baja, my neighbors, and family who all own other subies. They're expensive, but [so...

Re: 2005 NA intake piping

Probably the second resonator/crap collector. There's two in the intake pipe: the first is the big box right behind the intake "mouth" and a second oddly-shaped skinny one on the pipe right before the L pipe that connects to the air filter housing (highlighted in red below). baja intake.JPG My 06 NA...

Re: 2006 Baja Turbo Questions.

Edit: what about a new Subaru truck? I'd heard rumors but couldn't find a primary source so assumed it was just wishful thinking. It's all just rumors and speculation. My 2-cents: considering the sheer amount of recalls in the short time the Ascent has been out I don't see it being a thing, IF it's...

Re: 2006 Baja Turbo Questions.

That's not surprising. Most dealers and bloggers/auto help sites don't know a thing about Bajas, and some don't even know they even exist. It doesn't help that Subaru's marketing campaign for these wasn't stellar either. Heck, my local Subie dealer and their techs didn't know it was Legacy-based unt...

Re: 2006 Baja Turbo Questions.

Hey there, I would assume the HP between the 05 and 06 stock turbos are the same, as they share the exact same engine. A few horses have likely escaped the stable anyway since these are all over a decade old. The stock ride height for all the 04-06 models are the same at around 8", despite what some...

Re: Fuel System Issue

I'm no mechanic, so here's my 2c: Did you drain the fuel tank when you changed the pump? I know it's not required as the pump is accessible from the top, but that's decade-old gas we're talking about that likely had ethanol added. The likelihood of that ethanol turning to water is pretty much guaran...

Re: Bed Covers

which is the only hard folding truck bed cover ? No, there were (to my knowledge) 4 hard bedcovers available during the production run, but only one was made by Subaru: Subaru Hard Cover, made for the 05+ turbos with the leather package: https://proxy.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse2.mm.bing...

Re: Baja #

I'm questioning the validity of the numbering. I've got an '05. Last 6 of the Vin are: 107632. Based upon your decipher... that would make the vast majority of the 38,000 vehicles '06 models. aka ~ 30k of the vehicles are later MY05 & MY06's. So your 05 is #7632. The sequential production number st...

Spotted this silver 03 Classic in Cambridge today, had temp tags from the local "ribbiting" dealership. So if you're an Eastern Shore local, whomever you are, feel free to hit me up!
