Re: Pulsing / surging Baja engine

This is gonna sound silly, and the issue prolly wasn't a factor in what eventually happened; but The '99 outback I had in high school had a similar issue. It idled 800ish high, then would chill out after about 30 seconds, then spike back up. I never found out what caused it. That car eventually died...

Re: 2003 Wheel for sale

If an 03 wheel is the same as an 06, I'd be interested.

I'm near the palace of Auburn hills.

Re: Dog DeMuro reviews the Baja

I saw that review and immediately thought that the borrowed Baja belonged to someone in this forum. I think I recall seeing a post about cosmetic customization of painting the grill, headlight interior trim and such. The bit about the sunroof seemed odd because it's the same size as the one my 99 ou...

Re: what is my Baja worth?

All I can say is that if this happens, PM me because EVERYTHING I have will be for sale and I want to talk to this person :D Yeah yeah, laugh it up. I did preface my statements the disclaimer that I'm a noob who is very possibly completely wrong. My only data point was what I paid for mine, and tha...

Re: what is my Baja worth?

For curiosity I plugged your specs into Kelly blue book car pricer. So I can actually recommended NOT using that pricer. The number it spat out would make sense for an 06 outback, or Forester, but not a Baja. Also, when I first read your post I somehow missed a bunch of it. The $18k I paid was for a...

Re: what is my Baja worth?

Unicorn.

I'm not the knowledge one on the forum, but 7 years ago I paid $18,000 for one very similar but with no turbo.

So I'd say around $23k-25k

But again, I've only got the one data point, so I could be way off.

Re: 2006 Baja Turbo Questions.

Where in Michigan is it from? I'm a SE Michigan native and we've had some severe flooding problems in last couple years. So have your inspector look for signs of flood damage if it's in Detroit/Ann Arbor/Warren region. Not all our roads are bad. Just the ones within the cities/suburban. There's a wo...

Re: MO: Garage Cleanout - Lots of Gen 3 parts

Prolly all the better. My transmission went out last week that started a mad rush to fix everything . The truck is in the shop right now getting new brakes and struts so I guess i stopped needing them yesterday. Didn't want to put off maintenance any longer for just a chance at cheaper parts. I'll p...

Re: What did you do to your Baja today?

In the past week my Baja has gotten a new clutch and flywheel, new tires and gotten the headlights sanded down to restore clarity. I waffled a long time on fix/sell, but settled on making it the daily commuter car again. It’s not the smart practical decision, but I figure it’s replaying the favor to...

Re: snug lid and bed extender

I know I'm plenty late to the party. Is that bed cap still available?

I'm in the Detroit area so I'd probably be able to pick it up on a non work day.

Re: MO: Garage Cleanout - Lots of Gen 3 parts

I'm brand new to this forum. I joined to get advice on fixing up my baja. (06, stick shift non turbo, 104k miles) If you're willing to ship to the Detroit area, I'd definitely be interested in the 4 strut-spring assemblies, the floor mats, brake rotors, and the hood latch. I'm not a mechanic at all,...
