Re: Garage Lighting

As far as using LEDs, I worked in a factory where we looked into replacing florescent and halogens with LED. We got one as a test and put it in a corner of the maintenance shop. The light was more diffuse than what we replaced - less shadows on what you have on the table. We did a cost analysis of r...

Re: snug lid and bed extender

I would be interested in a price on the bed extender, if you decide to let it go.

Re: snug lid and bed extender

How hard was the snuglid to get off? Any tips?

Does the bed extender have mounting hardware?

Re: Brumby Tonneau Cover

Nobody makes them anymore. There are some for sale occasionally here and ebay. There's also a thread on making your own, including making one with 80-20 stock. Most people make one from plywood and seal the hell out of it, from what I've read. Mine came with a snuglid. I'll take it off this summer t...

[/quote] I looked at this for a couple seconds before I realized exactly what I was looking at. Does that not obscure your rear view? Re: Modification Tutorials & Links

cspaugh Mine is NA. That video is the same thing I did for plug replacement, less complicated on the cold air intake, though. I don't have coil packs on the plugs, so just twist to loosen then pull off. Before I pulled the plugs, I used compressed air to clear out the dust that was in the hole to ke...

Re: Rear differential fluid

This seems like a good place to ask a stupid question that's related.

I have an 050 MT with manual tranny. The tranny is also the front diff, correct? I'm planning on changing them out, just not sure I'm reading the manual right.

Re: Island truck, Maui, Should I buy this?

3 things: A/C didn't blow cold and there is a noticable "whistle" coming from the driver side window and the gas cap access door is missing the cover. My AC was blowing ice cold for five minutes, then blowing hot. This was a $400 part. Driver side wind noise fix is to just open it up and bend it int...

Re: messy oil changes!

I put a Fumoto on mine last oil change. I can't wait to use it. I got tired of messy hands from pulling the plug - I never got the hang of it.

I have a primitive skidplate that was just barely tapping against it, so I had to pound a dent in the skidplate. Other than that, no issues so far.

If you do a restoration on them, the last step is UV clearcoat. Maybe multiple coats would seal the water out.

Re: Baja bed cover soft top

Mesh would be easy with 8020 stock. Not cheap, but easy. We used it to make guards around machines to keep operators from reaching into pinch points.

Use some basic 2525 for the frame and 1/2 " mesh panels to fill in.

A locksmith can rekey it for you, possibly replace the cylinder. To replace the whole thing, an RV shop may be more helpful.

Re: What have you hauled? Post Pics !!!

Sorry, no pics, but took 1200 lbs of old Cat5 to the recycler. It took five trips based on what was removed that day and what fit in the back.
