Re: Sunroof issues

Yeah, but I couldn't get the "5 mm allen" deal to work until I removed the motor. I was afraid I was going to break something. Dennis

Re: Sunroof issues

There is a "module" attached to the motor that apparently makes the safety function where you go to close it, it moves a few inches, stops, and you hit the switch again and it closes all the way. from my internet searches about my own problems with this, the modules go bad and are part of the motor ...

Re: 2006 Baja Turbo Engine Removal

So I am looking at your engine picture and notice that it is the DOHC engine (similar to the EJ25 in my '98 Forester). Is this still a 2.5, or is it the 2.0 turbo I have heard about (JDM engine?). Never worried much about turbos as I feel like my NA Baja has plenty of pep. Dennis

Re: 2006 Baja Turbo Engine Removal

I have pulled engines on 2 Foresters while leaving the A/C system intact and on the vehicles, and the Foresters are supposed to ba a bit smaller vehicles. Dennis

Re: A Work Baja story

From your initial description, I was expecting to see a total beater. From you rpics, it really doesn't look that bad. Love to see an "unloved" vehicle get some TLC. From your parts pics, this one should come out nice. Dennis

Re: Trailer wiring harness

There is an access plug under the right rear for a "plug and play" trailer light system. It is capped from the factory. You remove the cap, plug in the harness (w/ module), secure the wires, and you are good to go. Dennis

You got MY attention. I'll be watching. Making your own lift, or buying a kit? Dennis

Re: Sport activity light question(s)

Depending on your choice of "sport lights", my preference - and plan when I get around to installing mine, will be a separate fuse, powering a Bosch type relay, and the "stock" switch / wiring being used to activate the relay. Dennis

Re: Looking at a 2005 Turbo

What concerns me about "the wires" is there appears to be a couple of screws shot through the das directly above the wires. This would indicate "bush league" quality of modifications done to the vehicle - not to mention what the screws are holding. Dennis

Re: New to subaru's

Keep in mind that whatever lift you add at the strut, there will be a greater lift at the wheel. A lift will also cause a need for alignment. Dennis I don't think the ones I used to fly even had wheel pants. I think every student pilot has the need for a "runway jack" at some point when they first s...

Re: New to subaru's

Yeah, I currently have a 2" lift on my front and am making blocks to lower the engine, transmission, driveshaft carrier, and rear axle cradle. Right now, my front CV axles look like the landing gear on a Cessna. Dennis

Re: New to subaru's

putting an engine together for it One thing I can add is only use Subaru head gaskets or the special head gaskets from a dealer in Oregon (forgot the name, but I can hunt it down). I have done heads on 2 Subie engines, one a DOHC (1998) and one a SOHC (2006). On each engine I reused the head bolts ...
