Re: messy oil changes!

I believe the Fumoto is a proven part and a worthwhile upgrade if you do your own changes. That being said, I don't use one and 'usually' don't make too much of a mess. Typically, I find the filter removal to be more liable to cause a puddle... I really love the top mount filter on my wife's 2.0 DIT...

Re: Snugtop tonneu cover lock

Yes, I just rebuilt a Snugtop for my Baja and I had to have the lock re-keyed. The lock portion comes out of the lid fairly easily with some disassembly, take it to your favorite locksmith and you should be good.

Looks like SLC from previous posts...
OP should confirm though. Also condition of parts, damage, etc. would be useful information.

Re: WTB Bed Extender Bracket/hardware

Hi SteveNC, While exchanging some bed trim from my project truck to my runner, I noticed that I have an extra set of bed extender brackets. As I only have one extender, I have no use for a second set of brackets. Note these are the authentic items and will attach directly into the bed mounting holes...

Re: SnugTop lid mounting rails & parts

Wow, those seals are nasty! Scoobytoo58, I have some info for you regarding your measurements... For question 1): Yes, the width of the bottom flange is consistent front to back except! there is a small notch on the bottom edge directly between the mounting studs for the hinge plate, providi...

Re: SnugTop lid mounting rails & parts

The seals actually bolt on from the underside. How do I know this? I am currently in the process of refinishing a Snugtop from yellow to Altlantic Blue... I've had it for a couple years and I'm finally getting to it, or should I say, my body/paint guy is. I was digging all the peripheral goodies lik...

Re: Hyundai Santa Cruz

It seems to me that Subaru now has the perfect platform for a future car/truck... the Ascent. I could easily see that becoming the basis for our next 'Baja'. 5000 lbs towing with a relatively frugal yet powerful turbo 4, sacrifice a little 2nd row room for a larger bed capable of 4' x 4' flat capaci...

Re: roof rack question

Outinthewoods... I can confirm that first gen Forester racks will work. I have the heavier, straight ones and they work very nicely, just reverse the outer clamping piece and ... viola! They're not perfect, I use a little heavy foam over the rail to prevent front to back slippage, but if adjusted pr...

It could be a blown innner CV boot. They have a tendency to spray grease on exhaust components... easy to check.
Hope this helps... :D

Re: Yakima Outdoorsman bed rack

I've often thought about creating an extended rack for the back only, then use with roof racks as well, and have the whole issue at the same height. This would have the benefit of requiring the rear rack to be strong mostly in the vertical direction only, as the roof racks would contribute most of t...
