Re: Sport activity light question(s)

Question: Can we use (is it a good idea?) the Subaru Sport Activity Light wiring to supply power to non-OE roof mounted lights - I was thinking some of the newer LED Spot lights for minimal power draw (fewer potential problems)? Related question: Using the Sport Activity Light wiring - can we wire ...

Re: 2006 Baja Sport

That does sound like the center diff is binding... which could cause axles and bearings to go out. My 05 turbo is in similar straights currently (but a MT so different setup). clean, maintained ATF is a must for everything to work right. That being said, damage may be done and just changing fluid ma...

Re: Well, I'm back...

Looks, on the vehicle, like that comes off the intake manifold, instead of the turbo itself. Either way, I have a new pill ordered. Which is kind of ironic, because it's not doing the bang/CEL thing right now. At least not when I dove it today. I didn't drive it that hard, though... It always stops...

Re: Well, I'm back...

The lack of a code is not conclusive that the condition doesn't exist. When you get into real engine management programming, misfires (and knock) are very grey area. Interestingly, looking at a time/pressure curve or even listening on a mic it's pretty easy for a human to discern but amazingly hard ...

Re: 2006 Baja Turbo Running Rough

non-working TGVs should throw a code but if there's a problem in the manifold (loose, misaligned) that wouldn't. cleaned the throttle body lately? done a leak check on the manifold and inlet system? post-MAF air leaks are worse with less airflow because the leak is a larger portion of the total air ...

Re: 2003 lift

Yea, the kings are ~20% stiffer than stock according to the marketing, though they're also progressive so it's not a true comparison. IMO the Kings are the stiffness Subaru should have put in it from the factory. Stiffer than stock but far from harsh and a great way to ignore speedbumps and potholes...

Re: 2003 lift

Zubija, did you get an alignment after you lifted it? any pics of the offending tires? toe will cause wear loooong before camber does and it changes with suspension movement faster too. Looking at Rockauto's cross reference info, looks like in front, NA axles are all the same and turbo axles are all...

Re: Well, I'm back...

OK, some of that was based on not knowing your experience with RR and tuning. I suspect that you boom/misfire/limp is not fuel cut but a major misfire. with electronic throttle control and modern(ish) electronics, it should be more like the engine just doesn't go any further and won't throw codes fo...

Re: Well, I'm back...

There are a few gotchas that might have happened and there are a few red flags I see in your post. (there are a few places I took a shortcut to not write a dissertation) #1 Get the stock airbox or get it tuned. The maf sensor reads by some elecrical voodoo and outputting a voltage, the ECM estimates...

Re: WANTED: Spare tire lft kit or cable

Keep an eye out in junkyards or partouts. You might also ask the dealer if they can get a hold of a new one. If you want to post a wanted ad, we have a buying/selling section for that.

Nevermind, you did find the FS section.

Re: 2005 Baja Throwing P0462 Code

P0462: Fuel level sensor circuit low that means it's expecting more than 0 volts on the sensor line but is getting 0v. My first thought with several electrical symptoms in close proximity was a common ground but that doesn't make sense for that code. I'd say they nicked wires under the dash or broke...

Re: Gauge Cluster

Granted this is from when I was in school a few years ago but if you are replacing a failed cluster, you can legally change the mileage on the new one to be correct or put in a cluster with the wrong mileage (if adjustment isn't possible) by putting an official "mileage is inaccurate, here's the cor...
