Re: aftermarket a.r.e. cap and possible repairs?

The gas shocks that hold up the back glass can be found via Google, or so I've read. If not by name, there are part numbers on the old ones.

The leaky windows I have nothing on other than that you can try finding some weatherstripping that fits.

Re: Propeller Shaft Necessity

DO NOT drive a manual Baja (turbo or NA) without the rear driveshaft. It has nothing to do with electronics. You can drive a 4wd truck in 4wd without a driveshaft because there's no center differential. You can drive most automatic subarus by pulling the AWD fuse that engages the rear wheels. In a f...

Re: Valve Cover Gasket Brands

Did you torque the bolts to spec or just tighten them down? The next component is a little harder to quantify: how much blowby is your engine making? how clear is the crankcase vent system (PCV)? if the rings are worn and too much blowby is getting to the crankcase, the gasket brand or proper proced...

Re: has anybody connected the side roll bars with.a top center hoop bar

Yea, I'm familiar with them. The other problem you're going to have, aesthetically, is that in those the lateral hoop is the primary component and the rearward supports are just support. In the Bajas, the rearward supports are the primary part and the lateral is the add-on. You might be better off c...

Thank you Russell. I've printed out your list.
I'm curious as to why?

Probably the best and only list out there.
but why do you need a list printed? it's not terribly useful without the troubleshooting flowcharts associated with them.

Re: has anybody connected the side roll bars with.a top center hoop bar

For what purpose? Practically, I don't think it'll help much but I'll listen to ideas. They're already tied to the cab for structural rigidity. you don't really need any more rollover protection over the bed, you aren't adding any more hoop material so the overall rollover protection won't change mu...

Re: EGR valve

If you don't have a code for the EGR system not working, don't worry about it. It won't hurt fuel economy unless it's grossly messed up but you'll notice the terrible idle quality long before it bothers your fuel economy. This isn't the 70s anymore trying to bolt 1st gen electronic emissions crap on...

Someone probably replaced the windshield thinking they'd benefit from it and gave up when they didn't have the switch/wiring.

Re: Maybe someone knows.

MIL: malfunction indicator light. CEL: Check engine light if you start mixing and matching letters, you'll confuse people. You can use any fuel/oil/emissions related hose the right size. there's very little pressure/vacuum in them. tire shine, dash shine, rubber wetter, etc are for looks at best and...

Re: Maybe someone knows.

Thanks Russell: It's a 2006 turbo. I found the part at autozone, It's a fuel sensor. I've been down with the flu and pneumonia for the last couple weeks, so I've been off line. I'm having trouble finding the coolant lines that go to the inter cooler. Actually Rock Auto has a lot, but they don't hav...

So define "High mileage engine". Dennis
Depends, selling new cars, used cars, or parts?

WOW!!!!! I had no idea that a simple question about one particular engine, would be so difficult to answer... Re: To Rebuild or To Buy a Reman 2.5 NA

So does "Obviously, Yes. It gets done all the time." mean it is possible to rebuild the Subaru Engine and have a reliable engine cheaper than just buying a rebuilt engine from a reputable engine rebuilder, or vice versa? In my neck of the woods we still see more Isuzu's than Subaru's... I have a 2w...
