Re: messy oil changes!

yea, what are you draining it into, a butter tub? The $10 one from the parts store works fine for me. the plug's the same size as a thousand other cars. mine looks like this but with a closed top and hole in the middle like a funnel https://www.autozone.com/shop-and-garage-tools/oil-drain-pan/flotoo...

Re: Island truck, Maui, Should I buy this?

So it's currently in UT and you'd ship it to HI? what's the damage for that? Any particular reason you're looking to buy continental and shipping it vs buying local without shipping once you get there? I don't see any red flags but dealerships usually try not to leave any visible. Price is high but ...

Re: Problem when turning... diffrrential?

Wheel bearings are unlikely to cause the hopping/skipping/binding you feel on tight turns. I've changed enough in my time in a shop to know better than to say never but that's much more likely to be a a diff problem. I could see it being an axle though more than a bearing as the rollers actually rid...

Re: STi TMIC/aftermarket

I got my Baja with an STI intercooler (and turbo and ECM), doesn't look like the AC lines were molested. I don't know of any duct to connect it to the stock hood scoop but it nowhere near lines up. Don't want to try to straighten your fins? It's easy enough to do while watching TV, most parts stores...

Re: TireRack and taxes on internet sales

Online sales have been taxed more and more over the last 5 years. Old news dude.

No s*** free shipping isn't free... you think anyone operating a business is going to take a loss and stay in business long?

Uh, welcome to the 21st century. Are you 15 or 80? lol

Re: CT 2004 Subaru Baja 5 speed manual transmission

I'm obviously new to the forum. Frankly I never had a need to join having never owned a baja. That being said I can provide my NASIOC username mavstang73 and if things get serious more personal information and my ratings on Facebook. Yup I fix and flip Subarus. Some are mine forever though. Like th...

Re: What have you hauled? Post Pics !!!

I did something similar with dirt but folded the back seat down and loaded the seat first, then the front of the bed, then a little to the rear. probably as much if not more weight but better distribution.

Re: Sport activity light question(s)

Question: Can we use (is it a good idea?) the Subaru Sport Activity Light wiring to supply power to non-OE roof mounted lights - I was thinking some of the newer LED Spot lights for minimal power draw (fewer potential problems)? Related question: Using the Sport Activity Light wiring - can we wire ...

Re: 2006 Baja Sport

That does sound like the center diff is binding... which could cause axles and bearings to go out. My 05 turbo is in similar straights currently (but a MT so different setup). clean, maintained ATF is a must for everything to work right. That being said, damage may be done and just changing fluid ma...

Re: Well, I'm back...

Looks, on the vehicle, like that comes off the intake manifold, instead of the turbo itself. Either way, I have a new pill ordered. Which is kind of ironic, because it's not doing the bang/CEL thing right now. At least not when I dove it today. I didn't drive it that hard, though... It always stops...

Re: Well, I'm back...

The lack of a code is not conclusive that the condition doesn't exist. When you get into real engine management programming, misfires (and knock) are very grey area. Interestingly, looking at a time/pressure curve or even listening on a mic it's pretty easy for a human to discern but amazingly hard ...

Re: 2006 Baja Turbo Running Rough

non-working TGVs should throw a code but if there's a problem in the manifold (loose, misaligned) that wouldn't. cleaned the throttle body lately? done a leak check on the manifold and inlet system? post-MAF air leaks are worse with less airflow because the leak is a larger portion of the total air ...

Re: 2003 lift

Yea, the kings are ~20% stiffer than stock according to the marketing, though they're also progressive so it's not a true comparison. IMO the Kings are the stiffness Subaru should have put in it from the factory. Stiffer than stock but far from harsh and a great way to ignore speedbumps and potholes...
