Re: 2006 Baja Turbo Questions.

I think you were wise to back away from the Michigan Baja; sounds like the one in Texas is a keeper. Let's see some photos once it's yours! :D

Re: Dimensions of storage area behind the back seat

Wow; I never realized how much room there is back there! With the net and a couple of the new-fangled shopping bags that can be looped over the headrests, I can hold almost as much "stuff' as I'd store in the trunk of a sedan if it were a Legacy. Thanks for the tip! :D

Re: Sub (second) fan

A few minutes spent diagnosing verified that the sub fan wasn't working. Slipped in the replacement and all is once again well in Oldpro's Bajaland :D

Re: Sub (second) fan

The main fan on the passenger side is working fine. It's the sub fan on the driver's side that's failed. I have an appointment with my favorite subie mechanic Tuesday for an oil change and fan fixing. He will have a replacement fan on hand in the shop that day. If his diagnosing shows it's NOT a bad...

Re: Sub (second) fan

Finally got the little bugger out. Tried shorting across the terminals, and the sub fan didn't turn on. Tried a new relay. No dice. Looks like it'll have to go to my favorite independent guy for further diagnostics. I wonder why the stealership didn't check for proper fan operation after they replac...

He certainly did make that look easy, didn't he? Just grabbed and pulled them right out. Must be one of those "Practice makes perfect things." :D

Re: Sub (second) fan

Continuing to diagnose the overheat problem. Fan rotates easily; no binding. Fan is plugged in. Fuse good. I'm trying to pull the relay, but I need the secret handshake on getting the relay out of its socket. I can wiggle the little bugger, but it just won't pull out. :(

Sub (second) fan

In our 90+ degree weather I've had some cooling issues. Last one got me a new radiator. Yesterday at 96 degrees, still running hot. Had to turn off a/c which was blowing hot air to get engine temp back in OK range. I tried to duplicate the situation at home by blocking airflow through radiator, but ...

That makes a lot of sense; it's important to keep water out of the carb.... [smilie=boggl3y3dummy-ani.gif]

2005 NA intake piping

I've discovered a hole about 1.5" in diameter on the underside of the air intake piping. It's in the elbow that comes from the right-hand fender side and then points straight back to the next elbow that goes into the air cleaner housing. What am I missing? Did the PO cut off one of the resonators? E...

Re: 2006 Baja Turbo Questions.

I'm in Albuquerque, but found my '05 in Denver after searching everywhere. It was in close to new-but-slightly used condition; low mileage, no accidents, no rust, little upholstery wear, paint protectant apparently worked. My early years through college were in the Detroit area, so I've known quite ...

Nice overall, but to me photo #2 seems to show you have a whole lot of front wheel toe-out. Did your do an alignment after this photo was taken?

Re: Bed Covers

I made a pattern out of OSB, and it looked and fit so well that I decided to just coat it with a bedliner compound from Harbor Freight and call it good. Looked great for the first year, but in bitter cold weather the first winter the bedliner started flaking off. Little-by-little I kept removing the...
