Re: Fuel System Issue

I'm no mechanic, so here's my 2c: Did you drain the fuel tank when you changed the pump? I know it's not required as the pump is accessible from the top, but that's decade-old gas we're talking about that likely had ethanol added. The likelihood of that ethanol turning to water is pretty much guaran...

Re: Bed Covers

which is the only hard folding truck bed cover ? No, there were (to my knowledge) 4 hard bedcovers available during the production run, but only one was made by Subaru: Subaru Hard Cover, made for the 05+ turbos with the leather package: https://proxy.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse2.mm.bing...

Re: Baja #

I'm questioning the validity of the numbering. I've got an '05. Last 6 of the Vin are: 107632. Based upon your decipher... that would make the vast majority of the 38,000 vehicles '06 models. aka ~ 30k of the vehicles are later MY05 & MY06's. So your 05 is #7632. The sequential production number st...

Re: Baja Pics

Spotted this silver 03 Classic in Cambridge today, had temp tags from the local "ribbiting" dealership. So if you're an Eastern Shore local, whomever you are, feel free to hit me up!

For pictures you can do either. Posting them via attachments will have a big white boundary and always will be at the end of your post (see the very bottom picture for example) If you know HTML you can also click "Place inline" after the upload is complete and you can manually set where the picture ...

Re: Looking at a 2005 Turbo

My 2c, the wires and screws are probably for a jury-rigged hand-free phone setup mounted to the dash. My old work truck had something similar to this.

Re: Looking at a 2005 Turbo

Ask if he's done oil changes every 3,000 miles (this is the recommended), and if the banjo bolt filter in the turbo oil feed line has been removed or replaced- this filter can clog up over time and starve the turbo of oil causing an overheat and eventual failure, and the turbo itself costs the same ...

Re: New to subaru's

I want to keep everything on this mostly stock, maybe a 1" lift or king springs & a short shifter. But thats really about it. With a lift that high, would I have to worry about wearing out the CV axles or would they be okay? 1in off the stock height is pretty much the max you can go before you have...

Re: New to subaru's

Hey there, welcome to the Baja club and the Subie world! My 06 Baja was my first Subie too. Since you're replacing almost everything major that does go bad, there isn't much to go over. Just remember to follow the factory subie instructions when installing everything if you're DIY. The only thing I ...

Re: What did you do to your Baja today?

Forgot these were on my camera so here's a late 6-month update on the Bolsal exhaust. Aside from some nasty surface rust on the flanges, so far so good. Compare these pics to the one I posted here http://www.scoobytruck.com/bb/viewtopic.php?p=20565#p20565 Bear in mind too that this is with NO WASHIN...

Re: I'm calling it quits...

Sorry to see you go! :( Not that this'll help any, but mine's missing little things left and right: there's about 15 interior plastic clips gone that are supposed to hold in the interior panels in place, the latches to pull the rear seat down have both broke and have been replaced with and abominati...
