Re: New to subaru's

I want to keep everything on this mostly stock, maybe a 1" lift or king springs & a short shifter. But thats really about it. With a lift that high, would I have to worry about wearing out the CV axles or would they be okay? 1in off the stock height is pretty much the max you can go before you have...

Re: New to subaru's

Hey there, welcome to the Baja club and the Subie world! My 06 Baja was my first Subie too. Since you're replacing almost everything major that does go bad, there isn't much to go over. Just remember to follow the factory subie instructions when installing everything if you're DIY. The only thing I ...

Re: What did you do to your Baja today?

Forgot these were on my camera so here's a late 6-month update on the Bolsal exhaust. Aside from some nasty surface rust on the flanges, so far so good. Compare these pics to the one I posted here http://www.scoobytruck.com/bb/viewtopic.php?p=20565#p20565 Bear in mind too that this is with NO WASHIN...

Re: I'm calling it quits...

Sorry to see you go! :( Not that this'll help any, but mine's missing little things left and right: there's about 15 interior plastic clips gone that are supposed to hold in the interior panels in place, the latches to pull the rear seat down have both broke and have been replaced with and abominati...

Sorry I didn't see your first post, but that's an... interesting conundrum. Care to share how you ended up needing a whole new roof?

Re: Well, I'm back...

I saw your other thread but since I don't know jack about engine mechanics I didn't respond there, but is it specifically an STi upgrade you're looking to do on the TMIC? If not, one from a 2004-2008 Forester XT should be a direct swap along with most of the other bits and pieces since it's the same...

Re: ENGINE MECHANICS PLEASE HELP A FELLOW MEMBER

Well, you may not be screwed if you're up for doing some [maybe?] major reworking of the electrical. Another user, Nitro, took his 03 Baja Classic and swapped a 2010 WRX engine in it, then put the Baja engine, with STI heads, into a Gen-1 Forester. http://www.scoobytruck.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2...

Re: ENGINE MECHANICS PLEASE HELP A FELLOW MEMBER

Hey there, I'm not an engine mechanic, but I don't think the engine serial number and the VIN will match on any Subaru. The Subaru VIN is 17 characters long, and the engine serial number should be 10 characters. Info on Subie VIN: https://www.cars101.com/subaru/vin.html Unfortunately that's about al...

Re: Brake Light issues

Hey there, firstly welcome to the "cult" 0ds987f0ds87f0dsf.jpeg I have an 06 Sport as well. There are a total of 5 brake lights in the rear- one on each fender, two in the tailgate, and one in the roof. When you lock or unlock the vehicle with the key fob, only the fender taillights should blink (an...

Re: ARE window replacement?

Welcome! And that sucks ARE has finally discontinued these. If you know how to cut plexiglass that would be a starting point to fab one up. At least here in the US, it's fairly cheap and can be found in most local hardware stores (for order) and is durable enough to last years in the elements.

Re: radio problems on a 2003 baja

Hey there. The stock speakers going bad is a common issue and is most likely your problem. They seem to go bad after close to a decade for... whatever reason- we haven't figured it out yet. Luckily the door panels and speakers are stupidly easy to remove and replace. Plus since the Baja is Gen-III L...
