Re: Shopping for Baja, choices NA vs Turbo, MT vs AT

Very nice!
Be sure to pull the banjo bolt filter ASAP if it hasn't been done already!

Re: Baja driving position compared to 4x4 pickups

I have no idea if any manufacturer uses that specific of a measurement, but they do use ground clearance. What model year are we talking for the Tacoma and Frontier for comparison?
FWIW, a stock 2003 Baja has ~7in ground clearance, and stock 2004-2006s have ~8in.

Re: Exhaust system

Your post history is a little confusing, do you have an NA or a Turbo? If it's a turbo, that is why the cost is so astronomical even with aftermarket parts. For the downpipe, cats and catpipe you can pull those off a 2005-2008 Forester XT as it's the exact same engine. The catback midpipe and muffle...

Re: Windshield Deicer Relay and Timer Locations?

If your Baja is a US model it did not come with the deicer nor the wiring, those were Canada-exclusive along with heated mirrors. See this thread viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3435&p=19179

Re: Shopping for Baja, choices NA vs Turbo, MT vs AT

I can't speak on the Turbos or Manuals... buuuuut my 06 NA AT drives fine around the flat lands of Delmarva. Could it use some more power? Absolutely. I recently took it out to WV over the summer, and she was struggling on the mountains. Speed limit on the highway was 70 and I could barely manage 55...

Re: Roof Rack Removal!

I don't remember what size the nuts were, sorry. Here's the parent directory for the repair manuals though (it's 2006 but covers all model years). http://jdmfsm.info/Auto/Japan/Subaru/Baja/2006/USDM%20Legacy%20FSM%202006%20(BT%20Baja%20only)/ The main guide to the roof rail is under "Body Section" a...

Re: Roof Rack Removal!

In order to remove the actual rails for the crossbars, you will have to remove the interior trim from the roof pillars up and including the interior ceiling foam panel, then you can get to the screws that hold the rails down. You will also have to remove the plastic trim around the rear window to ge...

Re: Late Baja

This is unfortunately impossible to determine as we don't know exactly how many units were built per year, let alone in total. We only have the units sold per year, by month: http://www.scoobytruck.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=182 The last 6 digits of your VIN is the sequential production number thoug...

Re: Oil level reading

Pull that turbo banjo bolt filter ASAP! If the turbo was replaced, I guarantee that filter wasn't pulled- this'll starve your turbo if clogged and cause an eventual catastrophic turbo failure with a high probability of taking the engine with it. Also check for any leaks in the vacuum tubes, might be...

Yes the 2000-2004 Legacy/Outback struts are slightly different but are 100% compatible. 2005+ Legacy/Outback struts are not compatible however. Re: Dimensions of storage area behind the back seat

Hmmm... looks like the upper attachments of that go to the latch loop... wouldn't that make closing and latching the seat back in the upper position impossible? The sear rear seat locking clamps are on the top sides, not on the back. (lock between the two circles, note the plastic backing of the se...
