Re: Im going to need struts

Over $600 later, and i got my struts from Heuberger on saturday. Got the two rears done yesterday. Wasnt too tough...pulling the interior panels and getting them back in was probably the hardest part of the whole thing. It drives so much better! The fronts still feel fine, i think ill wait to instal...

Re: Anything Goes Thread

I thought that was the natural result of positive word-of-mouth. Well yeah but, when a guy rolls up in a brand new truck, asking me to fix his old beater for free...that gets old. Or when the only time a "friend" calls is for an auto repair...also old. I like being able to help people in genuine ne...

Re: Non-standard wheels

I got lucky and got a full set from an '02 outback from a junkyard for less than $100. That was at a u-pull-u-pay...the other yards i checked that pulled their own parts were asking over 100 each!

Re: Im going to need struts

Im finally to the point that im going to change my struts, and i cant find a complete set. Even on KYBs site, i can only find the fronts (or was it the rears?) but nobody lists a complete set.

So what the hell? Who here has already replaced theirs?

Re: Tires. We all need em - Heres the Thread for em .

Heres my '06 with its new 215x65-16 Grabber AT2. Nevermind...pics arent attaching for some reason Anyways, I really like these tires. Great in the dirt, not noisy on the highway (at least, by my standards). Mpg seems to be unaffected, and the speedo is as accurate as it ever was. Compared to the yok...

They definitely should be sealed with a UV blocker to keep them looking good.

Im going to need struts

My '06 baja has almost 90k on it now, and i can feel that its going to need struts soon. Both fronts are seeping oil but feel okay still. The right rear is the only one that feels and sounds sloppy on big bumps. Washboard especially... So anyways, can anybody recommend an aftermarket strut? Or is th...

Re: SJR lift in, wheel wells trimmed

Thats badass! Hows it drive? Still have enough power? I want to lift mine, but without a low range, id be worried about the power loss. I dont think id be afraid to trim even more than you did, and fit a 30" tire comfortably.

Re: When to replace struts/shocks?

Im going to wait until I start noticing a difference in handling before I change mine. My left front actually has a bit of oil seepage....but Im not worried yet.

I am curious what brands of parts these guys are going to recommend. Probably OEM.

Re: Anything Goes Thread

Im starting to be annoyed by several friends of mine, and more than a couple of my neighbors. I use my skills to help somebody out who wouldnt normally be able to afford the work....word gets around and people start pestering me all the time to turn wrenches, weld something up... Anybody else deal w...

Re: Winter Driving

Another recomendation here for a dedicated set of snow tires. I like to have them mounted on a 2nd set of wheels, but thats not necessary. Just easier, and they pay for themselves after a year or so. I really like studded Hankook I-pikes. Theyre a lot better in slush than most other tires ive tried...
