Re: In need of a Spare Tire "Donut" for a 06 baja turbo

Old thread is old (as are all of our Bajas, sadly...) but came across this today while looking for info related to the spare. As ZUBAJA had suggested, look for a junkyard with another Subaru that would have a compatible spare. If I'm reading the Subaru parts site correctly, the spare for our Bajas i...

Re: O2 sensor testing/replacement tips requested

Ok, so I got into it today. The harness plug is accessible on the passenger side of the engine along a strip of 3 or 4 plugs total. I removed the air intake snorkel between the filter box and the scroop above the front grille to make this easier to access. I couldn't get my test probes into the harn...

O2 sensor testing/replacement tips requested

2006 NA Baja with 145k on the odometer started throwing P0030 OBDII errors, indicating issues with the upstream O2 sensor. Going to work on this myself so I'm trying to source tips from anyone that has already worked on it. The location? Without having gone looking for it yet I think it is on passen...

Does the recent Outback/Legacy recall cross over to Bajas?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-wires/20130402/us-subaru-recall/?utm_hp_ref=business&ir=business "Subaru is recalling about 200,000 Legacy and Outback all-wheel-drive vehicles because the brake lines can rust and leak fluid." "The recall affects cars from the 2005 through 2009 model years sold in...

Rear view camera recommendations

So I finally pulled the plug on yet another stereo upgrade. After more than a year of searching and even driving down to Crutchfield's retail outlets for the best opportunity for hands-on testing I settled on a JVC KW-NT800HDT. Pricy, but man is it packed with features. Primarily I purchased it for ...

Re: Speedometer signal lead location?

I've got an AT but good info all the same, thanks! Any idea what the coloring of this wire might be and if it is consistent between both AT and MT models?

Speedometer signal lead location?

Looks like I'll be dropping a GPS stereo receiver into my '06 Baja, part of the installation calls for tapping into the signal lead from the speedometer so the GPS gets more accurate speed info for making calculations. IMO it should be completely unnecessary but apparently without it I'll always be ...

Just got the email blast from the forum admins about this. Not something I'm interested in but I have to say it looks sharp and solid, so thanks for making this available. Hope it happens for everyone!

Re: Tri State Chat That Never Ends, N/J N/Y P/A

Just recently rolled 90k on mine, might have done that while driving home from the Albany, NY area through the early section of hurricane Irene! Hope the rest of you guys weathered it OK.

Might be a chat that will never end, but it sure has been slow to gain momentum. :push:

Baja story featured in this month's Subaru Insider

http://www.sharbor.com/subaru/201105/insider.html 2/3 the way down the page. Think it is the first time I have seen it come up there, maybe only once in the Drive magazine since it was discontinued. Maybe it will open up some eyes to what once was, get people interested and get Subaru considering a ...

Re: Compatible seats for 2005 Baja

Semi-related... my drivers seat is cracking in 2 spots. Curious, where is it cracking? I've got two spots in mine as well. One I can't really explain (may have been something in my pocket that got caught) but the other is due to the foam beneath the side panel wearing through and the cover getting ...

Re: Tri State Chat That Never Ends, N/J N/Y P/A

2006 Sport in... uh, blue? I forget what the Subaru name for it was. Miss the two-tone that I had on my red/silver '03 that I traded for the '06, but loving the little extra ride height and the 60k less miles. Now up over 80k on the '06. Sported the scoobytruck.com decal on both, cleaned all the sti...

Gene, that looks nice. What materials went into it and how did you secure it? Any notes on the build?

Re: Could it be possible ??? The 2011 SUBARU BAJA ?

Damn! I want to believe! But unless it's a mock up actually made by Subaru it's a 'shop. First thing that caught my eye is that the driver side roof rail looks to extend too far back. Then the rear pass side door handle looks a little out of place. Finally I put together a couple different sections ...

Re: Tri-State  Nj/Pa/Ny

At least one still here, drove past your area last weekend going to to and from visiting friends and family in Rochester, NY. When I was doing some catching up on the forums the other week it was sad to see the "for sale" posts... seems like our numbers are fading.
